Atom Burst — Privacy Policy
Atom Burst ("the app", "the game") is made by Divyanshu. This policy explains what happens with information when you use the Atom Burst website (di-ivyanshu.github.io/chain-reaction) or the Atom Burst Android app, which shows the same game.
1. Information we collect
We (the developer) do not collect, store or sell personal information. There is no sign-up, no login, no advertising and no analytics or tracking.
2. Information kept on your device
The game saves a few things only on your own device (browser storage) so it remembers your preferences:
- the nickname you type, your chosen colour and avatar, theme and sound settings;
- local game settings and a saved local game so you can resume it.
You can delete this at any time by clearing the app's storage (Android: Settings → Apps → Atom Burst → Storage → Clear storage) or your browser's site data.
3. Online play with friends
When you create or join an online room, the following is sent to the other players in that room so the game can work: your nickname, colour and avatar, your moves, chat messages, emoji reactions and the voice lines you choose.
To connect players, the game uses these third-party services. They pass messages along in real time; we do not store the messages:
- Direct connections (WebRTC) between players' devices. To set these up, connection-helper (STUN) servers run by Google and Cloudflare see your device's network (IP) address.
- PeerJS (0.peerjs.com) to introduce players to each other.
- Public relay servers (EMQX — broker.emqx.io, and HiveMQ — broker.hivemq.com) that forward game messages when a direct connection isn't possible, for example on some mobile networks.
- unpkg / jsDelivr content networks, which deliver the PeerJS code library the first time you play online.
These services may process technical data such as your IP address under their own privacy policies. Messages sent through the public relays can be read by anyone who knows your room code, so please don't share personal information in chat.
4. Microphone (voice chat)
The app only uses your microphone if you turn on push-to-talk voice chat, and only while you hold the talk button. Your voice is sent directly to the other players in your room who also turned voice chat on. Audio is never recorded or stored by us. You can turn voice chat off at any time from the game menu, and you can deny microphone permission — everything else keeps working.
5. Spoken voice lines and vibration
Voice lines (like "Let's go!!") are spoken by your device's own text-to-speech; no audio is sent anywhere. Vibration uses your device's vibration feature and sends nothing.
6. Reporting and muting players
You can mute any player (only for you) or report them. When you report a player, your email app opens with a pre-filled report (the player's nickname, the room code and their recent chat messages) addressed to atomburst.app@gmail.com. We only receive what you choose to send, and use it only to deal with the report.
7. Children
Atom Burst is not directed at children under 13. Because online rooms include chat with other players, we recommend that younger children play with an adult's supervision, or use the local and vs-computer modes, which don't connect to anyone.
8. Data deletion
We don't hold any of your data on servers, so there is nothing for us to delete. Clearing the app's storage (see section 2) removes everything saved on your device. If you emailed us a report and want it deleted, write to us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
